I’ve been a bad Blogger. Only one post last week and it was my weekly reading roundup. Not that I didn’t prepare new content – but I just didn’t finalize it. Writing isn’t a fluid process for me…there are a lot of starts and stops. I frequently have to put a piece aside and pick it up at a later time because I get stuck or I know the piece isn’t flowing nicely, but I can’t resolve the issue because I’m too close to it. Anyway, my process is: write, rest, re-write, review and release. I did some writing this past week – but that’s about as far as I got. Expect more this week!
I did do some reading however and that’s the point of these posts. Here are some interesting nuggets I mined from the inter-webz this past week. Enjoy!
- Grayson at Debt Roundup reminds us that there is a dark side to earning more and it’s called taxes!
- I haven’t spoken much about my investment strategies – however here’s a Globe and Mail example of why I am a dividend stock fan – because it works.
- Here is a powerful reminder to keep what’s truly important in life front and centre in our thoughts.
- Last week James at RetirementSavvy helped us understand what a REIT is, the Dividend Ninja talked about a recent H&R REIT purchase he made and Tara Perkins at the Globe and Mail tells us why 2014 will be an important year for the Canadian REIT sector. Can you guess that I’m also a fan of REITs?
